Man attacked at Agecroft cemetery after funeral for Salford 'Mr Big' Paul Massey

The attack happened around 3pm, after most people had left the cemetery following the internment for Paul Massey

A man has been attacked at the funeral of murdered Salford 'Mr Big' Paul Massey.
The attack happened moments after the notorious 55-year-old was interred at Agecroft Cemetery in Salford, following a service at St Paul’s Church in Pendlebury close to the Ordsall estate where he made his name.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, was taken to Salford Royal Hospital. He was said to have been attacked with a plank of wood. He received two gashes at the back of his head, and is in a stable condition.
The attack happened at 3pm, after most people had left the cemetery.
Police said it was an isolated incident, and their had been no other reported incidents.
