Police sources have discounted media reports that
a suspected murderer of a lawmaker JB Danquah Adu was a remand prisoner
whose freedom was sped up because of insufficient evidence to prosecute
him.
Sources at the Police Headquarters and the Justice For All Programme told host of Multi TV/Joy FM Newsfile, Samson Lardy, the suspect did not go through the Justice For All Programme which seeks to speed up trial of remand prisoners sufferring from delayed justice and languishing in Ghana's congested prisons.
The clarification comes following Joy News report that the suspect whose name is unknown benefitted from the programme.
The suspect is however an ex-convict who was fined by a court for a misdemeanor, as reported in the media.
