Real Madrid are ready to rival Manchester United for the signing of Benfica star Renato Sanches, according to A Bola.
Last week the Premier League giants were reported to have triggered the 18-year-old’s £46 million release clause, with his agent Jorge Mendes confirming United’s interest.
But Real Madrid, who are said to be keen to bolster their squad with a smattering of younger talent, will represent significant competition for the talented midfielder.
Atletico Madrid, meanwhile, are also reportedly monitoring Sanches’ situation and their long-standing relationship with Benfica could well stand them in good stead.
