Cristiano Ronaldo is dreaming of a transfer back to Manchester United as the Portugal star considers his future at Real Madrid, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

The 30-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation for some time as he weighs up his options and who his next club could be.

Ronaldo was heavily linked with a possible return to Old Trafford last summer and was again touted as a potential target for the Red Devils this year.
However, Balague has revealed that the Ballon d’Or winner has been seriously considering a move back to the club he left in the summer of 2009.
“As I have said for months, everything is ready for him to go back,” Balague said in a Q&A session with Sky Sports.
“All the finances are in place if he decides to join them. But… in my eyes, it doesn’t make sense at all for him to go back. He is a different player, United is a different club.
“He does dream of going back but I am pretty sure that if given the choice of PSG, another top European club or United, he might realise going back is not the greatest of ideas. He will have to fight with his own shadow.
“I feel before next summer Ronaldo will have to think about his future carefully.”
Ronaldo scored 84 goals in 196 matches for United in a six-year spell after joining from Sporting Lisbon and won his first Ballon d’Or award whilst at the club in 2008.
He moved to Real Madrid in 2009 and became the most expensive player in history but has not ruled out a return to Manchester in the future.
