Manchester United Handed Boost In Race For 48-Goal Forward

Cristiano Ronaldo's six-year stay at Real Madrid could come to an end in the summer with Manchester United interested, according to reports.

Spanish publication Fichajes reports that United and Paris Saint-Germain are interested, with the former 'better positioned' to lure the Portugal international away from the Bernabeu.

Ronaldo bagged 48 goals in La Liga for Los Blancos last time out in what proved to be manager Carlo Ancelotti's final season at the helm.

The former Sporting Lisbon man spent six years at Old Trafford between 2003-2009, winning three Premier League titles, the 2003/04 FA Cup and the Champions League.

United were linked with a move for Ronaldo in the summer, aswell as his Blancos teammate Gareth Bale, but the relationship between the two clubs is currently on the rocks due to the failed transfer of Spain goalkeeper David de Gea.

The former Atletico Madrid stopper looked set to complete a move to the Spanish capital on deadline day, only for the deal to fall through at the last hurdle due to a paperwork issue.
